Challenge match versus Bruntsfield Short Hole at Leith Links - 2nd July 2015

"For a memorable golfing experience using traditional hickory clubs, come to Leith Links and play on the very turf where golf's earliest rules were written"

The results over the last few years have ebbed and flowed and this year proved no exception, with the Society coming out on top by 3-1. So the score in the series has narrowed to 5-3 in favour of our always welcome visitors.

The match results were -

Steven Doyle & David Maguire defeated Ian Fleming & Stuart Thomson 3&2
Jim Scanlon and Czeslaw Kruk
lost to Scott Allison & Iain Hislop 3&2
Alex Fleming & Alastair Chalmers defeated
Alastair Stewart & William Wright 4&3
Robin Miller & Fraser Paterson defeated John Hargreaves & Phil Mullery 3&2

The match was played in the traditional manner with great camaraderie in the clubhouse afterwards. However, we could definitely sense a feeling amongst our opponents that the "second leg" at Bruntsfield towards the end of July would be a different matter entirely! Sounds like we will have to be on top form if we want to achieve the double" this year!
