Challenge match versus Bruntsfield Short Hole at Leith Links - 7th July 2016

"For a memorable golfing experience using traditional hickory clubs, come to Leith Links and play on the very turf where golf's earliest rules were written"

The fame of our annual match against Bruntsfield has now spread across the Atlantic with one of their country members coming over to play in this epic fixture. I am sure Raffi will never forget his first encounter with hickory clubs or with pie and beans! On a nice warm evening perfect for golf our match was played in good spirit as is expected of golfers. The matches were as always close with the result going in favour of Leith Rules on this occasion.

The Society's second victory of the week was by the same close margin of  2 - 1, the score in the series has narrowed again to 5-4 in favour of our always welcome visitors.

The match results were -

Robin Morris and Chester Kruk lost to William Wright and Ian Proudfoot
Alex Fleming and Alastair Chalmers halved with Jimmy Robertson and Gus Mackenzie
Robin Miller and Alison Macdonald defeated John Hargreaves and Raffi Kalousdian

Jim Scanlon and Dave Clark defeated Stuart Thomson and Ian Fleming

We now look forward to the return match to be played on Bruntsfield Links on the 21st July hopefully our good fortune will continue through that match?
