Outing to Liberton- 8th September 2017

For the 6th time, we visited Liberton for our autumn outing using modern clubs. Six players teed off in what might be described as breezy conditions- a euphemism for a strong wind.

The winner was Alastair Chalmers with a very creditable 36 points in the conditions. This included a ‘no score’ at the 4th hole with a lost ball in the rough of the slope above the green. (the picture below is of that green, is Alastair just out of shot STILL looking for his ball?

Runner-up for the second year in a row was Brian Graham.

Nearest the pin holes presented an interesting result. At the 11th, a measure of the distances resulted in an absolute dead-heat between Alastair and Brian, so they shared the prize (a packet of M&Ms, no expense spared in this Society!). At the 13th it was a measure again, between Alastair and David Clark, which Alastair won by about the length of his small toe! At the prize giving Alastair generously donated his prize to Dave as he felt he could not in all honesty eat a packet and a half of the sweets!
