April 2007 - Challenge match hosted by Musselburgh Old Golf Course

Our challenge match with Musselburgh Old Golf Club was held at Musselburgh on Saturday April 28th 2007.

The sun shone on us from a clear sky, though of course being the east coast of Scotland near the sea, the wind was a factor.

The course was in excellent condition for the time of year.

Once again the match was played in the true golfing spirit, the hospitality we were given at the 19th was of the highest order.

The match score was relatively incidental, but was 4
- 1 in favour of Musselburgh. We were represented by -

Alastair Chalmers & Euan Chalmers
Eddie Whoriskey & David Marshall
Bob Burns & Lionel Freedman
Jim Maguire & Ken Gordon
Martin Fletcher & Brian Graham
Douglas Foulis & Ian Thom

Alastair and Euan gained the half point, though they were dormie-2 up. Jim and Ken were our winners.

The return event at the Links using Hickory clubs was held on 4th July 2007 [more]
