Challenge match versus Musselburgh Old Golf Club at Leith Links - 3rd July 2013

"For a memorable golfing experience using traditional hickory clubs, come to Leith Links and play on the very turf where golf's earliest rules were written"

It seems no time since these matches were suggested, but this was the 7th playing of our hard-fought match over Leith Links.

The Honours were even, the match score being 2-2, the score in the series now being 4-3 on favour of our always welcome visitors. The match results were -

Douglas Foulis and Richard Ellis lost to Billy Finnegan and Grant Campbell
Eugene Bradley and Steven Doyle lost to Eddie Whoriskey and Euan Glen
Alastair Chalmers and Alex Fleming defeated Rab Little and Ali Scoots
Chester Kruk and Robin Morris defeated Jimmy Duffield and Jim Stewart.

As always, the matches were played in the traditional spirit and at the 19th (or more precisely the 11th!) the players slaked their thirsts and partook of the now traditional plates of pie and beans.

Douglas Foulis (LRGS) and Eddie Whoriskey (MOGC) "discuss" who should receive the trophy after our halved match.
