Challenge match versus Musselburgh Old Golf Club at Leith Links - 28th June 2017

"For a memorable golfing experience using traditional hickory clubs, come to Leith Links and play on the very turf where golf's earliest rules were written"

Once again we welcomed to the Links our friends from Musselburgh Old. The weather was being kind and the players were given every opportunity to score well. This year our match was 12 a side it's excellent news that more players are looking to take part, but as always every game was played in the right spirit with each player trying their best to get the edge over their opponents, but all done in the nicest possible way.

So a most enjoyable evening made all the better with a 4-2 win for the home team. And of course the after golf drinks and the now customary pie and beans were taken in the Bowling Club.

The result means that we just edge ahead in the overall series score at 6-5. The match results were -

Dave Clark and Jim Scanlon defeated Anthony Larner and Paul Marshall
Alex Fleming and Alastair Chalmers lost to Clifford and Callum Livingstone

Robin Morris and John Dixon lost to Colin Whoriskey and Keith Harris
Steven Doyle and Robin Miller defeated Billy Finnigan and Eddie Whoriskey
Pat Denzler and Ian Gilmour defeated Jimmy Duffield and Alan Smith
Fraser Paterson and Chester Kruk defeated Grant Campbell and Justin Mauer
