The weather was glorious, a sun-drenched course and almost no wind. Clearly, the Society golfers were not used to such balmy conditions, reflected in the match score of 4-0.

However, 2 games went down the last so we did have a chance to salvage something, alas in vain.

As one of our opponents said afterwards "for there to be winners there also has to be losers" - very wise words and something for us to cling onto until the return match in June at Leith Links.

But as always, the matches were played in the right spirit.

The teams were:-

Billy Finnigan & Gordon Henderson

Kevin Wylie & Graham Ross

Chris Abbot & Stevie Fairgrieves

David Blackshaw & Stevie Jack

Jim Scanlon & David Clark

Robin Miller & Fraser Paterson

Alastair Chalmers & Alex Fleming

Robin Morris & John Dixon
