Nearest the Pin 2005

In 2005 we decided to hold our events to coincide with the Leith Festival, hence taking place in June rather than the usual July. At the "Big Picnic" on Leith Links we ran a very successful "nearest the pin" event. There were 3 age groups - under 12s; 12 -18 and adults.

Between 150 and 200 people tried to get nearest the pin from a distance of 50 yards. Whilst many did not get very near, some were very close indeed, the closest being no more than 6" away!

The winners were :-
Under 12s : Alastair Benn
12 - 18 : Craig Downing
Adults : Hamish Miller

This was the first time we had organised an event such as this and it proved very popular - a great start to our week of activities

The 3 winning shots, all excellent efforts from a
distance of 50 yards

Our winners receive their prizes - very well done ! (Our thanks to Glenmorangie and Leith Mills for donating the prizes)
