Fundraising event - Royal Burgess - Thursday 5th October 2017

Six teams took part in this fundraiser for our statue. The course looked in great condition although the underfoot conditions were wet. It was agreed to use preferred lies to try to minimise any damage to the course. We had a two-tee start from the first and the sixteenth to ensure all players finished around the same time.

The standard of golf was good and everyone enjoyed the course very much.

We had nearest the pin at the fifth and the eighth holes, the winners being Stuart Smith at the fifth and Alison Macdonald at the eighth, well done to both.

The competition was Stableford with two scores counting at each hole, off full handicaps. The result was:-

Team Morris (RBGS)

70

Team Gordon

71

Team Scanlon

74

Team Steel

79

Team Yuille

83

Team Graham

So, congratulations to our Society Secretary Brian Graham and his team of Alison Macdonald, John Campbell and Richard Ellis. Brian (modestly) commented that whilst they did bring in a good team score it was helped greatly by having a lady in the team who was on her game and scoring very well.

Many thanks to all who joined us for this event your support is important to us and makes our task of raising the funds for the statue not only easier but also very enjoyable.
